Im going to paint me my Mona Lisa
With every brush in blue
The way she moves
The way she shines
The way she lingers
Will settle lightly in that hue.
The blue of her hair in darkness
Shimmer of blue dress in the night
Her finger nails
Will fall in shadows from blue lights.
Im going to paint my Mona Lisa
Like a photograph toned in blue
She will seem sweet
She will seem soft
She will look tender
Like a raindrop
Like a maple leaf
Like a cherry flower
So that others will want to know her too.
Ill paint my memory of Mona Lisa
Standing so fine and pretty by the stairs
She was Waiting
With blue lights shining on her hair.
